Charles McJilton has been pioneering food banking in Japan for over 20 years. He has established four organization in Asia to address food insecurity and teaches NGO Management each spring at Sophia University.
In 2019 his proposal, marugohan market, was selected by as an Expo Live Global Innovator by Expo2020 Dubai. Over 12,000 applicants sent in proposals and his was one of 142 selected for funding (and the only other to come from Japan.
